AYSO EXTRA – Is it Right for Your Region/Area? (401)
This session will help you answer these important questions: How do you decide which type of EXTRA will be right for your Region/Area? What’s needed in your Regions and Area to start and run a program? How do you get approval? What resources are available to help you whether you’re starting out or growing and expanding your program?

AYSO EXTRA Roundtable (402)
This roundtable will provide the opportunity to share, learn and understand more about the EXTRA Program and what’s working across the Sections. Whether your program is new, been around for a couple years or you are just thinking about starting a program – this roundtable is for you!

AYSO Tournament Management Training: The Nuts & Bolts of Fulfilling the AYSO Mission Through Tournament Events (403)
This job specific training is designed for Region, Area, and Section Tournament Directors. The course provides ongoing training for S/A/R administrators and tournament staff. The course will review the why, what, and how of hosting tournament events for Regions, Areas, and Sections.

Planning, application, resource demands, volunteer staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and event specifics will be covered.

 

Grow with VIP (404)
Attend this workshop to get answers of how to start an AYSO’s VIP (Very Important Player) Program – the programs for players with physical and mental disabilities. Starting a VIP Division is like adding any new Division, and is simple following our step-by-step plan. Ideas for how to grow your current VIP program will also be shared. Growth is important to all Regions and providing VIP is the right thing to do! Lets us help you start or improve your VIP Division today!

 

**NAASA: “It’s not just for kids anymore!” (405)
This workshop is for anyone interested in starting a new AYSO adult soccer division, or building their existing program. Tools addressing the how, what and whys ranging from league application, to program organization and format, to referee and team management support to the many benefits for your community of adults and potential benefits for the youth program will be highlighted. Come and hear all about AYSO Adult Soccer!

 

Know It When You See It – Recognizing and Rewarding Good Sportsmanship (406)
This workshop for players, parents, coaches, referees, board members and volunteers will help you understand, recognize and reward the habits and behaviors associated with AYSO’s fifth philosophy – Good Sportsmanship. Learn what you can do in your own Region to foster sporting behavior, and if you’re lucky enough to be sending a team to the National Games, all the opportunities they will have to be caught doing something right.

 

**More Opportunities for VIP Players (407)
Ever wonder how to enhance your VIP program and bring more soccer to more VIP players? This workshop will share best practices of how to offer more opportunities to our VIP players through a variety of events.

 

More Soccer For More Kids (408)
Soccer events of varying types and sizes provide valuable opportunities to play beyond the primary AYSO season, which is good for the kids and good for their Game! Community involvement, camaraderie for players, coaches and referees and even income for the hosting body are the results. Your National Tournament Commission gives guidance, assistance, ideas that fit your needs and know-how. Learn the nuts and bolts of organizing and managing “more soccer for more kids” and review up-to-the-minute policy changes.

 

Player Health and Safety During Tournament Play (409)
This workshop will encompass pre tournament preparations for taking your team to a tournament. Best practices during the tournament to include proper hydration, play time guidelines and non-tournament activities.

 

SOCCERFEST: Pump It Up and Let Them Play (410)
This workshop for players, parents, coaches, referees, board members and volunteers will help you understand, recognize and reward the habits and behaviors associated with AYSO’s fifth philosophy – Good Sportsmanship. The Dream Continues: Your Week at the National Games (411)
This workshop will review all of the eligibility rules for the National Games and provide Information for open-slot applicants still interested in participating in the tournament. There will be detailed descriptions of all the team activities in which your group may need or want to participate. It will also include an in-depth slide show of each day’s activities with travel tips to and from the Games. Attendees will be privy to snapshot from past National Games events like Registration, Opening Ceremonies, Soccerfest, the youth event, the volunteer dinner, and competition days.

 

The Keys to Successful Tournament Game and Referee Scheduling (412)
Have you ever wondered how some tournaments seem to have more teams and volunteers than they know what to do with? There are many important components to a successful event. This workshop will focus on the integral element of game scheduling and referee scheduling. This workshop will take you through many of the best practices from several highly attended tournaments. From the best time to schedule younger teams, teams traveling the furthest, play time guidelines and how to schedule the referees and building referee team camaraderie. Keep your teams and referees coming back and looking forward to your event next year!!

 

VIP Instructor (413)
3 hours (Prerequisites: Introduction to Instruction and VIP Volunteer Training)
This course teaches AYSO Instructors how to deliver the VIP Volunteer Training Course to coaches, referees, buddies, family members, and Region administrators.

VIP Roundtable (414)
Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to meeting other VIP volunteers in a roundtable situation to share, learn and understand more about the VIP Program. Whether your program is new, been around for a long time or you are just thinking about starting a program – this roundtable is for you!

 

VIP Volunteer Training (415)
2½ hours (for all VIP volunteers)

This course provides the training needed for all coaches, referees, administrators and buddies who volunteer with your VIP division.
